How can you imitate the handwriting on an envelope?
It is best to use good handwriting with an inkjet printer.
By "handwriting" I don't mean old writing or brush writing. I mean a font design based on a real handwriting.
There are hundreds of options. It's also easy to convert your OWN handwriting into typography. There are several internet-based services that can help. You transform your handwriting into a font.
If you don't have a very sophisticated font, it's not perfect. It can easily be seen that a computer created the letters. In particular, you should check some examples of addresses to see what the font looks like. The numbers seem out of place. Or some letters can be particularly problematic. Then check first.
Some fonts look like printed letters, not like handwritten letters. The letters are not linked. But even then, aside from the actual handwriting, it's still a great option.
However, make sure you choose a good font. Websites like dafont.com or Font Squirrel are excellent starting points.
The second best way is to use good typewriting with an inkjet printer. The typewriter-style still gives a personal feeling. Again, the websites above offer many options.
What do I mean by "direct mail"?
Direct mail is sales and marketing mail. It is when you promote something. You send an email to get an answer, e.g. B. an order or an appointment. This is a great way to bid on someone on your mailing list who is not your customer.
In most cases, you send this to people who are not your customers. Therefore, you most likely do not want the recipient to see your business information in the envelope.
This is because the envelope's job is to open up. If it looks like advertising, it can be discarded without opening it.
Therefore, you can use a "sneaky" design to avoid this scenario.
If the envelope printing contains only the recipient's address and a harmless little return address, it may work fine.
The way the envelope is addressed and the return address should not appear to be from a commercial store.
This arouses curiosity. Recipients are more likely to open the envelope. You hide them ... they won't know who you are until they decide to open the envelope.
(Don't overlook the art of presenting content in it! But that's for another blog post.)
You can also choose the opposite approach. In this case, the envelope screams "advertising". With this method, you can attract recipients with a lot of money. Or maybe you don't even need such an envelope. Instead, you can use a flyer or postcard without an envelope.
But you're not hiding like that. You need the postcard or the flyer to be very attractive. Yes, it can work. But it's hard to make it really appear personal.
